This article will provide a high level overview of the Competition Portal functionality utilized when running an event. This may be a helpful resource for Event Planners to utilize as a checklist in setting up and running their events using the RECF Competition Portal web application. Event Administrators can access the Competition Portal for their event by doing the following:
- Sign into RECFevents.org
- Select Events
- Select the event in the event list
- Select Competition Portal in the top-right corner.
1 - 3 Months Prior to the Event

Pre-Event
These activities can be completed the day before your event in the Competition Portal to assist with getting ready for the event day:
- Complete the Event Setup.
- This will include all teams that are registered for the event. If a team does not attend the event, there is a method to regenerate the match schedule.
- Event Setup must be completed first before the next functions will be available.
- Print Signs and Reports
- Pit Signs & Field Signs
- Registered Team List, Referee Match Anomaly Log, and Inspection Checklists
- Set up Displays
- Main Audience Display (See also Main Audience Display Types)
- Field Timer Displays
- Remote Displays (See also Remote Display Types)
- Test the Match sounds at the Teamwork and Skills Fields, and test the venue P/A system.
Event Day
These activities follow the typical event day agenda.
- Set up event devices: Device Permissions
- Conduct Team Check-in and Team Inspection
- After Team Check-in is finalized, if one or more teams will not be at the event, Regenerate the Match Schedule.
- If there is a concern that a team may not pass inspection, then wait to finish Team Inspection before finalizing the Match Schedule.
- In Reports, print
- Practice (optional) and Qualification Match Lists for teams and event volunteers.
- Announcer Practice (optional) and Qualification Match lists.
- Conduct Skills Matches: Running & Scoring Skills Matches
- Conduct Practice (optional) and Qualification Matches: Running & Scoring Teamwork Matches

- Provide Qualification and Skills Ranking Reports to the Judges.
- Start Alliance Selection
- Print Alliance Selection Signs (Available once Start Alliance Selection has been selected)
- Conduct Alliance Selection.
- Conduct the Elimination Matches: Running & Scoring Teamwork Matches
- Add Award Winners and print Award Scripts & Certificates (optional): Award Winner Selection
- Conduct the Award Ceremony
- Finalize the Event
