Award winners are added in the Competition Portal once the Teamwork and Skills matches have been completed and the Judged awards have been finalized. The awards will not appear on the public event page until the event is finalized.

Entering Judged Award Winners

The Judged Award Winners are selected by the Judges who conduct the team interviews. Once the Judge Advisor gathers the award winners for the Judged awards, those can be entered into the Competition Portal by the Judge Advisor or other appropriately designated event staff.

Event Partner Tip:

  • The Judge Advisor can be set up with access to the Competition Portal with the Entering Award Winners permissions. See Device Permissions for more information.
  1. Select Award Winner Selection in the Dashboard or left-hand menu.

  4. Select Save
    1. Per the Judge’s Guide, a team can only win one Judged Award. If a team is selected for more than one award, an error message will appear when trying to save the team. The Judge Advisor should be notified so that a different team will be selected.
    2. The award winners will not be shown on the public event’s site until the event is finalized.
  5. If no teams are eligible for one or more Judged awards, they can be left blank.
  6. Return to the Award Winner Selection menu to repeat the process for the remaining Judged Awards.

Entering Performance Award Winners

Performance awards are awards won through team performance in the Teamwork and Skills matches. Once these matches are completed, the Event Partner, Technology Coordinator, or other appropriately designated event staff will add these award winners.

  1. Verify that all Skills Match scores and Teamwork Match scores have been saved and no further changes are required.
  2. Select Award Winner Selection in the Dashboard or left-hand menu.
  3. Select Auto Fill Performance Awards. This will automatically add the teams that won the Teamwork Mission and Skills Mission awards.
    1. A warning message will appear to indicate that previously saved performance award winners will be overwritten. This will not overwrite Judged award winners. Select Continue.
  4. Double-check the award winners to verify the correct teams were added.

Note: At this time, if an event has separate Middle School and High School Skills Mission Champion awards, those will need to be entered manually similar to the process used for Judged Awards. Refer to the Skills Challenge Ranking per Age Group report to identify the award winners. A future release will automate this process.

Ceremony Scripts

After the award winners have been entered, the team information for each award is automatically added to the award Ceremony Scripts. The Ceremony Scripts should be printed or viewed on a tablet so that they can be provided to the designated person that will be announcing the award winners during the Awards Ceremony.

  1. Select Ceremony Scripts in the Signs/Reports/Certificates from the Dashboard or directly from the Award Winner Selection screen.

  2. The Ceremony Script is a downloadable PDF document that has separate pages for each award.
    1. The awards are arranged in the same order that the Award Slides are created.
    2. The team information (number, organization, and location) is automatically added to the ceremony script.

The Competition Portal provides the option to print out Award Winner Certificates and Participation Certificates. These can be found in the Signs/Reports/Certificates in the Dashboard or directly in the Award Winner Selection screen.

  • The certificates will automatically populate the event and team information for each type of certificate.
  • When selecting one of the Certificate types, it will prompt for the event date.
  • Each Certificate type will generate a downloadable PDF document that can be printed and given to the teams. Event Partners can also opt to send digital copies to the teams after the event.
