The Competition Portal generates award slides that can be displayed on the Main Audience Display during the Award Ceremony. These slides are recommended to show at events since they provide a clear visual cue of the award winners and they are a great backdrop for team photos. Once the Award Winners have been added in the Award Winner Selection screen, creating slides is simple and quick to complete.

Before Starting the Awards Ceremony

  1. Verify all of the award winners have been entered in the Award Winner Selection menu. See the Award Winner Selection article for more information.
  2. Print the Ceremony Scripts and have the trophies ready.
  3. Select Award Slides for the Main Audience Display Type.

Accessing Award Ceremony

The Award Ceremony can be accessed in the Dashboard or in the left-hand menu of the Competition Portal. This can be controlled on a central laptop at the head table or through a tablet. At this time there is not a Device Permissions setting for controlling the slideshow, but that may be a feature that is added in the future.

Creating and Running the Award Ceremony Slides

The Award Ceremony screen includes two sections:

  • Slides List
  • Slideshow Management

The Slides List section is where the award slides will be created, and the Slideshow Management controls when the Slides are shown on the Main Audience Display.

  1. Once all award winners have been correctly entered in the Award Winner Selection menu, select Generate Slides in the Slides List section.
    1. This will generate a pop-up window to warn that the generated slides will overwrite any slides currently in place. Select Continue
    2. The newly generated slides will automatically be generated in the recommended order to present them during the Awards Ceremony. This is also the same order that the Ceremony Scripts will print. While there is the option to change the order of the awards presented, the default order is the recommended order.
  2. For each award, there is an Intro Slide that only includes the Award name and then the corresponding slide that includes the team winner information.

  3. Select Start Award Ceremony
    1. This will generate a pop-up window warning that once the slideshow is started, the awards list is locked and cannot be updated. Select Continue.

  4. The Slideshow Management section includes a Preview Slide and and Active Slide
    1. Active Slide: The slide currently shown on the Main Audience Display.
    2. Preview Slide: The next slide that will be shown on the Main Audience Display.
  5. The Intro slide of the first award will automatically populate in the Active Slide window.

  7. Repeat this process for the remainder of the Award Slides.
    1. Note: At this time, there is not a way to go back to a previous slide. That feature will be added in a future release. For now, take caution not to advance to the next slide until the winning team is announced.

Stopping the Award Ceremony

If the Award Ceremony needs to be stopped before the end of the slideshow, select Stop Award Ceremony in the Slideshow Management section. A warning message will appear and ask for confirmation. This will clear the Preview and Active Slides and allow for changes to be made to the Slides list.

Ceremony Scripts

After the award winners have been entered, the team information for each award is automatically added to the award Ceremony Scripts. The Ceremony Scripts should be printed or viewed on a tablet so that they can be provided to the designated person that will be announcing the award winners during the Awards Ceremony. See the Award Winner Selection article for more information.

Award Certificates

The Competition Portal provides the option to print out Award Winner Certificates and Participation Certificates. See the Award Winner Selection article for more information.
