Worlds Global Skills Mission Rankings - Explained

In addition to rankings at local events, the RECF also ranks Team scores globally. Aerial Drone Competition Rankings can be found on RECFevents.org. This ranking is also used to invite teams to Regional Championships if the event is not filled through qualifying awards. Learn more by reviewing the Qualification Criteria.

Rank

This number shows where a team stands compared to other teams worldwide.

Score

This combined Score is the number used to determine a team’s global rank.

The Score is the highest combined score achieved at a single event. All values used in this calculation come from the same competition, scores are not combined from multiple events. 

The Score is calculated by adding:

  1. Top Autonomous Flight Skills Mission Match (from that event)
  2. Top Piloting Skills Mission Match (from that event)
  3. Average of the top 4 Teamwork Qualifying Matches (from that event)

If two teams have the same combined Score from an event, tie breakers are applied according to the procedures outlined in the official competition manual.

Important: The Score reflects one event only, it is not a season-long cumulative total.

Highest Autonomous Flight Skills 

This number represents the highest Autonomous Flight Skills score the team has earned at any event during the current season.

It may come from a different event than the combined Score.

Highest Piloting Skills 

This number represents the highest Piloting Skills score the team has earned at any event during the current season.

It may come from a different event than the combined Score.

Average of top 4 Teamwork Qualifying Matches

This number represents the highest Average of Top 4 Teamwork Qualifying Matches the team has achieved at any event during the current season.

It may come from a different event than the combined Score.

Let's look at the following:

  • The Score is 485.75, since that is the highest combined score from one event (event #2)
  • The Highest Autonomous Flight Score from the season is 150 (event #2)
  • The Highest Piloting Skills Score from the season is 190 (event #3)
  • The Highest Average of Top 4 Teamwork Matches is 196 (event #1)

Summary

  • Rank is determined by the highest combined Score from one single event.
  • The Score is calculated using results from only one competition.
  • The “Highest” values shown in each category reflect a team’s best individual performances across the entire season, even if those scores were achieved at different events.
