When Awards are originally set up in a blended event (more than one grade level), the awards for All Around Champion and Skills Mission Champion are set up as single awards that can be won by a single team from either grade level, but not both.
Per the Qualifying Criteria, “when an event includes at least 10 teams from each grade level (registered two weeks prior to the event), it must recognize two All-Around Champions and two Skills Missions Champions, one for each grade level.”
RECFevents.org automatically checks the registered team list two weeks prior to the event, and if the event meets the criteria, then it will split these awards automatically by grade level:
- All Around Champion High School
- All Around Champion Middle School
- Skills Mission Champion High School
- Skills Mission Champion Middle School
The Event Partner and the RSM will be notified by email if the awards are split by the system, and the updated awards will automatically appear on the public event page and in the Competition Portal.
If Event Partners anticipate that their event may reach the threshold to split these awards, it’s recommended to plan ahead for additional trophies or award certificates. Event Partners should also communicate with their Judge Advisor so they know to select additional award winners.
NOTE: If the event meets the threshold less than two weeks prior to the event, the system will not automatically split the awards. Event Partners may contact the RSM to discuss if a waiver is recommended and the RSM can manually split the awards, if deemed appropriate.
