Field Timer Display Types
Field Timers are smaller displays located next to the Teamwork Fields and Skills Fields. These displays are intended to show Team members and event staff at the fields specific information about the upcoming and current match. Refer to the Venue Selection, Facility Planning & Field Layout article for more information.
There are two types of Field Timers:
- Teamwork Field Timers: Designated display for each Teamwork Field.
- Skills Field Timer: Designated display for each Skills Field.
Field Timers are typically smaller displays around the size of a laptop screen or tablet. See the Display Equipment article for more information on equipment recommendations.
Creating a Field Timer Display
Each Field Timer Display will show information about that specific field only.
- If the event has more than one Teamwork Field, then each Teamwork field will need a separate Field Timer Display.
-
It is recommended that each Skills field have a Field Timer Display.
- On the device controlling the Field Timer, login to the Competition Portal for the event and select the Field Timer Display menu in the Dashboard or in the left-hand menu.
- Select the Field Timer associated with the appropriate Field Name.
- Select Show Display. This will open a new browser tab with the Field Timer Display.
- A prompt will appear to ask if this display device should play match sounds. Select “Yes” or “No” depending on your preference.
- For Teamwork Matches, the match sounds are typically played through the Main Audience Display.
- For Skills Matches, the match sounds are typically played through the Field Timer.
-
It’s recommended to change the display settings to a full-screen mode. This is done differently depending on the browser type. For Chrome browsers, select the three-dot settings icon to expand the settings menu, then select the Full Screen icon in the Zoom settings.
- Repeat this process for additional Field Timer Displays at the event.
- Troubleshooting tips:
- If the display does not appear to be updating properly, try refreshing the browser.
- To exit out of the full screen mode, hold down the ESC button for 3+ seconds.
