In some instances, unexpected challenges may cause delays in an event which will necessitate decreasing the number of Qualification matches to ensure the event ends on time. Qualifying events have a minimum number of required matches that need to be played, so the number should never be reduced to less than four Qualification matches.

  • This should only be done in rare circumstances since teams are expecting to play in the original number of matches.
  • Event Partners will need to have a coach’s meeting or make a general announcement to communicate with the teams on reducing the number of Qualification matches.

Reducing Qualification Matches

  1. Select Qualification Matches in the Dashboard or left-hand menu.
  2. Select Decrease # of matches. A pop-up window will appear, and update the number of Qualification matches per Team. The original number of matches per team is displayed at the top for reference.
  3. Select Save. This will bring up a warning message to ask for confirmation to cancel the designated number of matches. Select Yes to confirm.

Example of decreasing the number of Qualification matches from 6 to 5 per team:

This action will cancel the last round of Matches for all teams. In the Qualification Matches section, the cancelled matches can be viewed by scrolling to the end of the Qualification Matches. Cancelled matches will appear dark-gray.

Uncancel Matches

If the canceled matches need to be added back into the event, select Uncancel All Matches. The previously cancelled matches will now return to their original state in the match list.

  • It is not recommended to manually uncancel matches using the individual Uncancel button at the end of the individual match list row because that may result in some teams getting more matches than others, and that will adversely affect team ranking calculations.
