Overview
This volunteer is responsible for managing the Competition Portal, setting up devices and displays, and maintaining reliable WiFi connectivity throughout the event.

Skills Needed
- Learn and understand the Competition Portal system to assist with check-in, scoring, and event operations.
- Set up and troubleshoot devices, including laptops, tablets, and display screens used during the competition.
- Ensure all necessary devices are connected and functioning properly before the event begins.
- Coordinate and maintain WiFi access to support event systems and ensure connectivity for devices.
- Provide on-site tech support for event staff and volunteers using the portal and connected systems.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware or connectivity issues during the event to prevent disruptions.
Requirements
- Basic technical knowledge and comfort with devices (laptops, tablets, WiFi, etc.)
- Willingness to learn the Competition Portal in advance of the event.
- Strong problem-solving skills and calm under pressure.
- Good communication skills for assisting other volunteers and event staff.
Training & Support
- Event Tech Coordinators will receive guidance and resources in advance to learn the Competition Portal and setup process. RECF tech support contact will be available for escalated issues.
On Event Day
Dress Code
Wear comfortable team-neutral clothing appropriate for a school related event, closed toe shoes, and a volunteer shirt (if provided).
Arrival
One of the first to arrive on competition day to ensure all computers, displays and tablets are up and running before teams and volunteers arrive.
