Mock events allow Event Partners to test the Competition Portal at a venue before hosting an official event. These practice sessions help Event Partners become familiar with the system and confirm the connectivity of displays, timers, and tablets.
The mock event feature is only available to users with Event Partner status in RECFevents. If you are an Event Partner and do not have access, please contact your Regional Support Manager (RSM).
Step 1: Login
- Go to RECFevents.org and log in.
- Click on Mock Events from the menu
Step 2: Create a New Mock Event
- Click the “+” button in the lower right-hand corner.
Step 3: Fill out Event Details
- Complete all required fields and click Save.
Note: Select an event start date after today. If you choose today and schedule matches for a time that has already passed (e.g., 9:00 AM when it's now noon), the system won’t be able to start them.
Step 4: Open Competition Portal
Click “Open Competition Portal” in the upper right-hand corner.
Step 5: Team Set up Tab - Select Number of Divisions
- Under the Team Setup tab: Select the number of divisions (usually 1 for most events).
- Note: The division number is on the far right of the box.
- You can remove teams by clicking the red X next to their names.
Click Save and Continue.
Step 6: Field Set up
- Select the number of Teamwork Fields and Skills Challenge Fields.
- Use the “+” button to add and name each Teamwork Field.
Click Save and Continue.
Step 7: Schedule Setup
- Fill out the required fields and click Generate Schedule.
- End Time for Matches: This is when you want qualifying matches to end (usually between 2–3 PM). Do not include eliminations or finals.
Lunch Break: Must be in 30-minute increments.
Step 8: Schedule Setup Part 2
- The system will suggest a cycle time based on your input. If it looks good, click Save and Continue.
- If you want to make changes, return to the Schedule Helper. Or you may return the Schedule Helper page and manually enter scheduled blocks.
Step 9: Create Qualification Matches
Click Create Qualification Matches, then click Finish.
