What is TRUST?
TRUST is a collaboration between the FAA and industry to provide TRUST and educational safety material to recreational flyers.
The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (REC Foundation) is a FAA-approved Test Administrator of The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST)
You can read more about the TRUST at the FAA Website.
Is this required for the Aerial Drone Competition?
Since we fly indoors, the TRUST is not required for the Aerial Drone Competition. Regardless. we do encourage all flight team members to take the TRUST (if based in the US) to provide students with education on important safety and regulation information if a drone is flown outdoors. If you fly a drone outdoors recreationally, you must pass the test before you can fly.
Flight team members in the US are encouraged to take the TRUST and include this information in their competition logbook.
