Overview
Each Aerial Drone Competition team must register as an official team and sign up for all official events through RECFevents.org. As a result, Event Partners are required to post their events on RECFevents.org, which is free to use.
While there is no charge to list events on the site, Event Partners (EPs) are responsible for the costs of hosting their events. To help cover these expenses, many EPs charge teams an event registration fee and will set the fee when the event is created.
Event Registration Fees
It is up to the Event Partner to determine what they need to charge to cover their local costs, but most one-day event registration fees range from $50-$100 per team and nearly all are less than $150 per team. Events that span more than one day, and events held at special locations may charge more.
$5 Flat Fee
All event registrations made through RECFevents.org include a flat $5 fee per registration. This fee structure does not cover all the costs of site maintenance, enhancements, processing, and accounting, but it does enable the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) to continue to make enhancements to the website and provide a positive experience for all our teams and partners using the site.
Event Partners are encouraged to build this cost into their event fees. The RECF continues to lead the industry as the most affordable program of its kind. With record growth, improvements must be made to ensure our program succeeds for years to come.
The REC Foundation $5 USD Flat Fee does not apply to events held outside of the US.
Event Registration Payments
For events in the US
When coaches make event payments through RECFevents.org, RECF Accounting will send a check to the Event Partner (EP) the following month for payments received during the previous month.
For events outside the US
EPs hosting events outside of the US or US Territories may elect to use the Stripe EP Payment option. These payments will include event registration payments paid by registered teams using RECFevents.org and will be distributed monthly.
If EPs do not elect to use the Stripe EP payment option, then EPs can still charge an event registration fee, but the EPS will need to collect those payments directly from the registered teams.
